We believe that Holidays Matter. They broaden horizons, provide a break from everyday stresses and strains and create memories that last a lifetime.
Holidays make people happier, communities stronger, and society more prosperous.
Today in Britain seven million people cannot find the money for an annual holiday1 and still more miss out because the challenges of daily life are too great.
With the UK tourism industry contributing 9% of GDP and employing over 3 million people2, it is a lifeline for communities the across the UK who depend on it for jobs and long-term economic viability. We simply cannot afford to have a third of the UK population excluded3 from the many benefits a simple break or day trip can provide.
Holidays Matter is a movement committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to benefit from breaks away from home. Our aim is to banish for ever the words “I’ve never been on holiday”.
